Warranties

MoveSmart is dedicated to delivering total customer satisfaction by offering high-quality products and services. The warranties on many of our products are limited to three months, as we cannot ensure proper usage by customers or guarantee that damages weren’t caused by improper matching or external damages from non-MoveSmart products. MoveSmart reserves the right to repair any product deemed faulty before a refund is considered. Products found not to be faulty after repairs are excluded from immediate refunds. Warranty claims must be accompanied by a valid proof of purchase and a detailed description of the issue. The claimant will bear all costs for the investigation. Warranties are void if the product's operating instructions have not been followed.

Warranty Catagories

ELECTRIC SCOOTERS AND ELECTRIC CHAIRS

All new MoveSmart Electric Scooters and Chairs come with the following warranties:

1-year warranty on batteries, electronics, and motors.

2-year warranty on the chassis.

MoveSmart does not provide extended warranties for these products. The warranty does not cover wear and tear or any modifications made to the product

WHEELCHAIRS, WALKERS, PARTS, AND ACCESSORIES

There is a 3-month limited warranty on all products, excluding new electric vehicles.

BATTERIES AND CHARGERS

Batteries and chargers sold with new MoveSmart scooters come with a 1-year guarantee.

A 3-month limited warranty is offered on individual batteries and chargers sold through our website. This is due to the potential for misuse or incorrect installation, and the inability to ensure they are used correctly or installed in an appropriate mobility vehicle. However, when used correctly, all our high-quality batteries are expected to last many years.

Battery Maintenance and Charger Use

MoveSmart batteries are designed for use in mobility or medical equipment. To avoid warranty voidance and ensure optimal performance, adhere to the following maintenance guidelines:

Always fully charge your battery after each day of use.

Continue charging until the charger indicates that the battery is fully charged.

Maintain good tire pressure, as low tire pressure can significantly reduce battery life.

Avoid overstraining motors, exposing wiring to moisture or damage, and overloading, as these can cause battery faults.

Handle batteries with care; avoid dropping or banging them.

These guidelines help prevent common causes of battery failure that are not due to manufacturing defects.

Warranty Voidance

Chargers are considered faulty only if a clear manufacturing defect is present, typically evident if the charger fails to operate upon initial use. Chargers can fail due to external factors such as being dropped, knocked, power surges, blocked fans, or being left on continuously. Unless a manufacturing fault is proven from the time of receipt, any other issues without supporting evidence will be deemed void of warranty coverage. Causes for battery warranty voidance include:

Use of an incorrect or under-specified battery type for the vehicle.

Charging system issues resulting in over-charging or under-charging.

Repeated deep discharges. Batteries are intended for frequent, small discharges to maximize lifespan. Continuously depleting the battery into the 'red zone' through extended use can significantly reduce its life.

Prolonged storage or minimal use, which can cause battery sulphation, preventing it from recovering its full charge. It's advisable to charge the battery at least once per month if the vehicle is stored.

Electrical faults, such as shorts or excessive loads.

Unauthorised modifications to the battery, including acid additives, changes to lead terminals, or the introduction of contaminants.

Damage to the battery caused by the user or other faults of the machine.

Overstraining the battery due to low tire pressure, motor issues, wiring problems, or other operational issues.

Exclusions from Warranty

The following are excluded from MoveSmart’s warranty coverage:

Routine service and maintenance.

Normal wear and tear items, e.g., tires.

Damage resulting from improper loading.

Damage due to incorrect operation.

Damage from accidents, fire, theft, or exposure to chemicals.

Damage resulting from the use of non-genuine parts and accessories.

These exclusions emphasize the importance of proper use and maintenance in ensuring the longevity and performance of your MoveSmart products
